What it is
This flags positions where a concrete win was available (a capture that wins material, or a check that then wins material) and you chose a different move. The engine's best line shows exactly what you missed.
Why it matters
Missed wins are points left on the board. Two or three per game is the difference between drifting and converting — and the wins you miss are usually the same motifs each time, which is why seeing them collected is so useful.
How to recognize it
When you sense something is there, force yourself to look at every check and every capture before deciding. Most missed wins start with a forcing move you didn't calculate because it looked unnatural.
